Project Description
All old-school FPS action. No Bullshit. Lots of blood & gore. Slaughter your way through nightmarish industrial mazes, transformed cityscapes and surreal alien structures to cut down the Growth in this ultraviolent, fast-paced, and merciless retro-styled first person shooter.
Objective 1:
Resolving Hidden Obstacles for Seamless Player Movement
The client’s product was nearing release when reports began to surface of players unexpectedly getting stuck in various parts of the levels. Ensuring smooth navigation and player freedom was critical for maintaining immersion and game quality.
Players were encountering invisible barriers or getting trapped in specific areas, breaking the game’s flow and leading to frustration. The issues appeared sporadic, making them difficult for the development team to reproduce or diagnose.
Our QA team conducted meticulous exploration of every level, systematically examining collision boundaries, terrain geometry, and interactive elements. Through rigorous testing and documentation, we identified several instances of incorrectly placed collision meshes, creating unintended obstacles or trapping players in certain zones.
Using our precise feedback, the developers corrected the problematic collisions. As a result, player navigation became smooth and unhindered across all levels. The game launched without these frustrating issues, contributing to a more immersive and enjoyable experience for players.

Objective 2:
Creating Comprehensive Walkthrough Documentation for Better QA and Development
The client realized late in production that they lacked formal walkthrough documentation, which is a critical tool for QA teams, level designers, and support staff alike.
Without a structured walkthrough, it was difficult to coordinate testing, track game progression, and ensure consistency in gameplay experiences. Missing such documentation posed risks for both quality assurance and future content updates.
Our QA specialists played through the entire game and created an exhaustive walkthrough document. This resource included step-by-step level progressions, enemy counts for each area, precise locations of secrets, and notes on critical gameplay moments.
The new documentation became an invaluable reference for both QA and development teams. It enabled faster, more targeted testing, streamlined bug tracking, and laid a solid foundation for future patches and content updates. The client gained a lasting resource that improved internal efficiency and quality control.
Objective 3:
Ensuring Accurate In-Game Counters for a Satisfying Player Experience
The game offered players detailed stats on enemies defeated and secrets discovered, which was a key part of its replayability and completionist appeal. However, inconsistencies in these counters threatened to undermine player trust and satisfaction.
Players noticed discrepancies between their in-game actions and what was reflected in the “enemies killed” and “secrets found” counters at the end of levels. Left unresolved, these inaccuracies could diminish the game’s appeal for dedicated players who value precise tracking and full completion.
Building on the comprehensive walkthrough document we previously created, our QA team revisited every level in detail. They manually counted each enemy encounter and secret location, then cross-checked those numbers against the game’s internal counters. Any mismatches were reported with precise details for the developers to address.
Following our thorough verification, the developers fixed the underlying logic in the tracking systems. The game’s counters now accurately reflect player achievements, enhancing the sense of accomplishment and ensuring a satisfying experience for completionists and casual players alike.
