Objective 1:

Ensuring Speedrunning Strategies Remain Viable After Game Updates

  • Overview

The client was preparing for a significant update. The developers wanted to ensure that the new changes wouldn’t disrupt the carefully crafted strategies used by dedicated players.

  • The Challenge

Speedrunners feared that modifications to game levels, mechanics, or timing would invalidate established routes and techniques, potentially undermining the community’s engagement and the game’s lasting appeal.

  • Our Solution

To address these concerns, we assigned our in-house speedrunner, who possessed deep knowledge of both gameplay mechanics and the speedrunning scene. They methodically played through the entire game post-update, testing all known speedrun paths and strategies to confirm their continued viability or identify necessary adjustments.

  • The Result

Thanks to focused testing, the client released the update with confidence, knowing that the speedrunning community’s core experiences remained intact. The result was sustained community enthusiasm and the preservation of the game’s reputation.

Objective 2:

Expanding Global Reach Through High-Quality French Localization

  • Overview

The client sought to reach new audiences and boost global sales by offering a full French localization for his title. However, they needed more than just literal translations and wanted the game’s personality and humor to resonate with French-speaking players.

  • The Challenge

Localizing a game is more than translating words; it requires cultural nuance, consistency, and an understanding of gaming terminology. A poor localization risks alienating players and diminishing the game’s appeal.

  • Our Solution

We deployed a native French speaker from our team who specializes in video game localization. They meticulously adapted the game’s dialogue, UI text, and in-game references to ensure that the story, humor, and emotional impact were preserved in French. Throughout the process, they collaborated closely with the developers to maintain the game’s original creative vision.

  • The Result

The French version launched smoothly, receiving positive feedback from players and reviewers alike. The developer successfully expanded into the French-speaking market, increasing player engagement and unlocking new revenue opportunities.

Objective 3:

Perfecting Aim-Assist for Smooth Xbox Controller Gameplay

  • Overview

The client aimed to provide an equally satisfying experience for players using controllers. However, during testing, inconsistencies with the aim-assist system were affecting gameplay, risking player frustration.

  • The Challenge

Players using controllers found that aim-assist either failed to activate in key moments or behaved unpredictably, impacting accuracy and overall game feel. This posed a significant hurdle in delivering a polished experience.

  • Our Solution

Our QA team deployed skilled testers to play the game extensively on Xbox controllers. They focused specifically on combat scenarios, identifying situations where aim-assist failed or felt unnatural. Detailed feedback was provided to the development team, highlighting precise problem areas and offering suggestions for refinement.

  • The Result

With our insights, the developers fine-tuned the aim-assist mechanics, ensuring smoother, more responsive gameplay for Xbox controller users. The improvements contributed to a more balanced and enjoyable experience, helping the game meet player expectations and perform strongly in competitive markets.
